In the year 2156 A.D., the deep space fishing vessel Essex, owned by the industry giant AmberCorp, embarks on its final harvest of the season. The crew encounters a rare, mammoth-sized creature that is highly territorial, possibly the same leviathan that killed the father of brothers Richard and Owen. Their mission is further complicated when a vicious band of scavengers intercepts their transmission and infiltrates the ship, leaving them with no cargo and few supplies. With no other options, the captain makes a daring decision to venture into uncharted territory, risking everything to capture the creature for a lucrative black market deal.
