Set in 1995, Captain Marvel follows Vers, a Kree Starforce member suffering from amnesia and haunted by nightmares of an older woman. Trained by her mentor Yon-Rogg and guided by the Supreme Intelligence, she struggles to control her emotions and powers. Captured by Skrull commander Talos during a mission, a probe of her memories leads the Skrulls to Earth. Escaping to Los Angeles, Vers encounters S.H.I.E.L.D. agents Nick Fury and Phil Coulson. After recovering a crystal containing her extracted memories, she and Fury uncover a conspiracy that forces her to confront her true identity and the origins of her incredible abilities.
