Nadaaniyan (2025) is a Hindi romantic drama film directed by Shauna Gautam in her directorial debut. The movie follows Pia Jaisingh (Khushi Kapoor), a wealthy and spoiled Delhi girl from an elite family, who hires Arjun Mehta (Ibrahim Ali Khan), a middle-class scholarship student, to pose as her boyfriend in order to maintain her social status among her friends. What begins as a transactional arrangement gradually evolves into genuine feelings, forcing both characters to confront their prejudices and the vast class divide between their worlds. Set against the backdrop of contemporary Delhi’s elite private university culture, Nadaaniyan explores themes of social class, identity, and modern relationships. The film marks the debut of both Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor, children of established Bollywood families, bringing fresh faces to the romantic genre. With supporting performances from veteran actors Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza, and Mahima Chaudry, the film attempts to balance youthful romance with family drama. Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, the digital arm of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Nadaaniyan premiered directly on Netflix, targeting young adult audiences with its glossy production values and contemporary soundtrack.
