It is a tender story of a man who falls in love at first sight and attempts to woo the girl who has captured his imagination. It is also the story of a girl torn between her egoistic fiancé and a gentle cook she is increasingly attracted to. Above all, this is a story of prejudices and the unintentional hilarity that ensues. From the unassuming folk in the Bernese Mountains who regard the Indian film troupe as a nuisance, to the Indian crew who expect only cheesiness from the Swiss landscape, to Sonja who approaches Raja’s advances with trepidation, to her fiancé who first brands Raja as a refugee but later wholeheartedly embraces his Indian cooking—the film explores clashing stereotypes. It makes for fun viewing as two cultures are introduced and slowly get to know each other better.
